The Records Bureau is part of the Uniform Services Division and is responsible for all clerical duties surrounding the law enforcement functions of the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office. These duties include the processing and retention of all police reports, processing and retaining accident reports, processing gun permits, Records/FOIA Requests, Service of Court Documents, Sheriff Foreclosure Sales and assisting the public with their various day to day needs.
GUN REGISTRATION PERMITS:
Gun Registration permits can be mailed to the Sheriff's Office, or placed in the drop box which is located in the entryway to the Main Office located at 65 N. Elk St in Sandusky.
FIREARMS PURCHASE PERMITS:
Firearms Purchase Permits can be obtained Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm at the Main Office located at 65 N. Elk St in Sandusky.
SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY:
Sex Offender Registry will be available on Monday thru Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.
