The Detective Bureau, which is part of the Uniform Services Division is an Investigative Unit which consists of detectives whose primary responsibility is to conduct follow up investigations on crimes which have been reported to the Uniform Services Division. The Detective Bureau is also responsible for dealing with homicide, robbery/assault, burglary, theft, documents, and investigations. Detectives have specialized training in crime scene processing, interview techniques, fingerprint lifting and analysis, photography, crime analysis, computer crimes and surveillance skills.
The Detective Bureau also works in close conjunction with the local, state and federal forensic laboratories and maintains a constant working relationship with our local law enforcement partners. When requested, the Detective Bureau assists other local police agencies with the investigation of major crimes or undercover operations.
The Detective Bureau is currently staffed by a Detective/Sergeant and 2 Detectives.
